Canon 02:55
Down come the buildings Another bomb then Another quake bends Robbing children Another bloodstain Under the hot rain Predator v. prey then What will be said when? There’s nothing left but animal shells And the putrid smells of lost souls We’ve gotta find a way, find a way before it’s over now We’ve gotta find a way, find a way before it’s over now We blacken blue skies We bring the sun down Systematic breakdown Fields are burning What can be said then? When there’s nothing left but broken bells And the eulogies on dead scrolls We’ve gotta find a way, find a way before it’s over now We’ve gotta find a way, find a way before it’s over now

Stuck on a wire Between two towers I don’t know where to lean I don’t know where to lean Catch me when you leave I need something I can see ‘Cuz I’ve fallen to my knees Rebirth in a mental Spring Becomes a part of me ‘Cuz I’ve fallen to my knees Fixed by the hour Submerged in power I don’t know what it means I don’t know what it means Stuck on a wire Between two towers I don’t know where to lean I don’t know where to lean Catch me when you leave I need something I can see ‘Cuz I’ve fallen to my knees Rebirth in a mental Spring Becomes a part of me ‘Cuz I’ve fallen to my knees History teaches ... No need for shamans and preachers No supernatural reaches ... Cosmological breaches Just open the borders ... And let the traffic pass Bring in the grains and the rice ... Ending the ethical fast Tribal tendencies broken ... Universal languages spoken We stop the planet from smoking ... Subtract the papers and tokens Passed out on beaches ... Antique ideas without reaches Big banging stars into seasons ... There’s no life without reason Catch me when you leave I need something I can see ‘Cuz I’ve fallen to my knees Rebirth in a mental Spring Becomes a part of me ‘Cuz I’ve fallen to my knees

Shipwreck 04:08
“Let it go, let it go, let it go”, was all you said Here we go, here we go, here we go, take my hand A jealous wave in my room Covered my mouth with a hurricane Idle hands they did the rest, I did my best Tragedy a feuding tree Do we unite in spite of dusky days and hunger pangs? Tell me now show me now If you go I will follow you to the grave Empty love has no use for me should I stay “Let it go, let it go, let it go”, was all you said Here we go, here we go, here we go, take my hand Love me not love me do Poison my mouth because I’m missing you No Montagues no Capulets, We did our best Tragedy a family tree Like the dagger in your chest from your steady hand Tell me now show me now If you go I will follow you to the grave Empty love has no use for me should I stay “Let it go, let it go, let it go”, was all you said Here we go, here we go, here we go, take my hand When I close my eyes we’re only sleeping still breathing Under stars they shine a light on our love “Let it go, let it go, let it go”, was all you said Here we go, here we go, here we go, take my hand

Apology 03:58
Every time I turn a corner I toss and turn like a fish without water A battery empty and corroding A muddy river filling up the road we’re on Every time I hit a speed bump A fascist hill born from a tiny lump Socrates with another question A victim hung with a deadly potion It’s still you on my mind each time I turn away It’s still you on my mind each time I turn away Every time I turn a corner I toss and turn like a fish without water A battery empty and corroding A muddy river filling up the road we’re on Every time I hit a speed bump A fascist hill born from a tiny lump Socrates with another question A victim hung with a deadly potion It’s still you on my mind each time I turn away It’s still you on my mind each time I turn away

Hello 02:58
Such a beautiful light that shines over you When you walk in a room Open up with a smile words softly fall Not a worry at all Notes perfectly sound you breathe harmony You define melody Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello Flowers never bend down Colors won’t fade as the rain penetrates Feel the warmth from the sun Hands on my chest, you’re an angel in dress Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello If this is a dream then I don’t want to take it slow Just hold on to me because I’m afraid I can’t let go Through your eyes I see there is hope in an ugly world And I don’t want to go home lonely Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello Don’t say goodbye, I’d rather say hello I’d rather say hello I’d rather say hello

Lucky 04:22
What you said when you screamed you were hurting You tried hard to make this stone bleed I couldn’t bear to look so I turned to say There is nothing, nothing to make this go away There’s a crack on the bridge from the backs that are broken Another loser has spent a lifetime choking What if the game is rigged when your number is spoken? Do you feel lucky? Do you feel lucky? What I felt when you left I was hoping You would change your mind towards me We couldn’t bear to look so we turned to say There is nothing, nothing to make this go away There’s a crack on the bridge from the backs that are broken Another loser has spent a lifetime choking What if the game is rigged when your number is spoken? Do you feel lucky? Do you feel lucky? Another game an unavoidable heartbreak Too late to see what was easy how we misplaced It’s hard to breathe when we panic from a nosebleed We keep the needy in the rear view out of sight never mind Slide into place like loose change Under the rug is where we sleep with a cold face Am I lucky to be living in my born place? With a head start false start I can see the finish line There’s a crack on the bridge from the backs that are broken Another loser has spent a lifetime choking What if the game is rigged when your number is spoken? Do you feel lucky? Do you feel lucky?

So long yesterday As you move behind us How your memory remains In time machines we make So long yesterday As you move, move, move away I keep chasing you to stay So long yesterday As you fade behind us Your voice on the tapes In time machines we make So long yesterday As you move, move, move away I keep chasing you to stay So long yesterday As you move, move, move away I keep chasing you to stay

Beautiful boy you’ve got me on Beautiful boy you’ve got me on I’m standing on the edge of your tiny hand I’m standing on the edge of your tiny hand My love goes with you My love goes with you A clean diamond in this mine A clean diamond in this mine Beautiful boy you’ve got me on Beautiful boy you’ve got me on My love goes with you My love goes with you My love goes with you My love goes with you My love goes with you My love goes with you

Do you ever feel so far away? So far off the map that nobody knows you’re alive Does the mountain get steep when you blink? You want to climb but instead you slide, you slide Just pick up those feelings Pretend you are dreaming Feel it explode inside Your head stops banging When walls start crashing When day turns to night Day becomes night becomes day becomes night … Does the water taste like gasoline? You pay the bill but still there’s no light Does the ocean get deep when you swim? The crest of the wave gone with the tide, the tide Just pick up those feelings Pretend you are dreaming Feel it explode inside Your head stops banging When walls start crashing When day turns to night Day becomes night becomes day becomes night …

Rosalia 06:31
Free Tell me who is free? When lights go out Is it you or me? Tell me how this works When ships set sail Heavy on the sea Masses on the heights Come in with tides Victory will bloom from defeat Tomorrow we’ll see the sun We’ll include everyone Victory will bloom from defeat Speak Tell me how to speak In a stubborn world That’s cold and bleak I just want to run When I hear those sounds Fall on deaf ears Masses on the heights Come in with tides Victory will bloom from defeat Tomorrow we’ll see the sun We’ll include everyone Victory will bloom from defeat

about

Recorded in my home in East Nashville on a laptop. The cello on "Canon" was recorded in a church in East Nashville. Roberta Harrison's lovely background vocals on "Canon" were recorded at her studio in Toronto.

Press:

Allowing his self-penned music to speak for him shows the country that influences him is not the '& Western' variety, but resides, for the most part, on the other side of the pond. While there's a lot of indie-Brit pop leaning in tracks like "Hello", "My Love Goes With You", and "So Long Yesterday", the most interesting track is "Shipwreck"; a beguiling collaboration with ex-Fugee Wyclef Jean, and guest vocalist Ruby Amanfu, where a drum machine backs distorted guitar loops. - DAVE ESSON (SCOTTISH DAILY EXPRESS) 4 STARS.

From The Deli Magazine: “…bending pop music to his classically-trained sensibilities—Such endeavors result in high-brow concepts such as tracks inspired by poems from 1562 (“The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet,” Arthur Brooke) with unusual instrumentation and a mind towards ear-catching repetition.” - TERRA JAMES-JURA (THE DELI MAGAZINE).
